Alla Ivanzhina was born in Gorki, Russia. She first took piano lessons at the local Balakirev Music College with Galina Fadeeva and performed at the age of 13 as soloist with Gorky Philharmonic orchestra.
Alla has been winner of several international competitions, including 1 Prize of the competition for young pianists in Turin, Italy as well as top Prizes at the „Serebriakov-Competition“ in St. Petersburg and „A.M.A. Calabria“ competition in Lamezia Terme. She graduated from the University of Music Detmold, Germany, where she has studied with Prof. Jean Efflam Bavouzet and Prof. Anatol Ugorski. She participated at Masterclasses of Andras Schiff, Dmitry Bashkirov, Andreas Steier and Bruno Canino.
Alla has performed at several music festivals in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Russia and collaborated with such artists as Ivan Monighetti, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Stephane Rety and Emil Rovner among others. She frequently acts as piano accompanist at international violin and cello competitions.
2015 she recorded a CD of works by M. Weinberg and B. Tchaikovsky with Cellist Emil Rovner which has been highly acclaimed by the international press.
Alla Ivanzhina is teaching piano and piano accompaniment at the University of music Leipzig as well as at the University of Music Dresden.
Her most recent projects include performances of the 10 sonatas for piano and violin as well as 5 sonatas for piano and cello by L. V. Beethoven.
